Must the au pair arrive exactly on the contract start date?
Short answer
No. The contract start date is the earliest possible date on which the au pair is allowed to enter Germany. They do not have to arrive on this exact day.

What lies behind it
After the visa has been granted, or from the possible contract start date, the au pair generally has up to three months to enter the country. We agree the specific arrival date together with you and the au pair.
