May my au pair also work at weekends?
Short answer
Yes. Your au pair can of course also support you at weekends. The days off do not always have to fall on Saturday and Sunday. At least one weekend a month must, however, be free.

What lies behind it
We know that support is especially needed at weekends in many families. That is why the au pair's working time can of course also be scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday.
Even so, we recommend paying attention to a fair balance when planning the week. Many au pairs have weekends off and use this time to meet friends, get to know other au pairs or do something together.
If your au pair is permanently only off during the week while their circle of friends has every weekend free, this can become frustrating over time and affect motivation.
Our tip: plan weekend work where you really need the support — and at the same time regularly give your au pair the chance to spend free time together with other au pairs.
