How we ensure your au pair's preparation

Before an au pair travels to its host family through Besondere Sterne, it goes through our compulsory preparation. Only once all the planned components have been completed is the preparation considered fully done with us.

This includes a compulsory internship, among other things in a facility for children with a disability. Participation and successful completion are documented accordingly.

Another component is our au pair academy. There the au pairs work through various online knowledge videos and complete the accompanying tests. The academy is supplemented by an online cooking workshop and an online craft workshop with corresponding learning videos.

In addition, the au pairs take part in our preparatory live calls while still in their home country. Here they are prepared for the coming au pair year, for living together with a German host family and for the particular features of everyday family life.

Only once all the planned components have been completed does the au pair receive its certificate. At the same time, we inform you as the host family that your au pair's preparation has been fully completed.

So you already know before arrival: your au pair does not arrive unprepared, but has prepared intensively for the shared au pair year.
