Yes, both single parents and foster families can become a host family for an au pair. What matters is that the general requirements for hosting an au pair are met. This includes, among other things, that at least one child under 18 lives in the shared household.

You can host an au pair as a single mother or single father too. Especially in everyday family life, an extra person in the household can be a valuable source of support and relief.

Foster families

Foster families are warmly welcome with us as well. We already support many foster families across Germany in finding and placing a suitable au pair. Depending on your individual situation, additional coordination or documents may be required.
