Costs and funding

Is a follow-up placement chargeable?

Short answer

Yes. A Vermittlungsgebühr (agency placement fee) also applies to a follow-up placement. For follow-up bookings, it is reduced to 1.078 € (see the au pair contract). The process and our services largely correspond to a first placement – only the Vermittlungsgebühr is reduced for existing host families.

What is included in a follow-up placement?

The new au pair also goes through our full preparation programme, including a placement, online training, knowledge tests, workshops, and live calls. At the same time, we support you again with selection, matching, contract and visa processing, and after the au pair's arrival.

The process and our services therefore largely correspond to a first placement – only the Vermittlungsgebühr is reduced for existing host families.

As with the first placement, it begins with a conversation about your daily life: what worked well over the past year, what you would like to be different this time, and which tasks are coming up now that your child is older. On this basis, we select suitable au pairs for you and present their profiles.

Getting to know each other also works as it did the first time: you speak with the au pairs who interest you and decide at your own pace. For the getting-to-know-each-other and decision phase, you should allow around 1 to 2 Wochen, and then 2 to 6 Wochen for visa and entry.

After that, we again take care of the contract documents, putting together the papers for the embassy, and coordinating the flight and arrival. After arrival, we remain reachable for you and for your au pair, and your au pair takes part in our coaches' weekly live calls in the first few weeks.

The Vermittlungsgebühr for a follow-up placement also only becomes due once you give a binding instruction. Up to that point, the profiles, getting to know each other, and the conversations are free of charge and non-binding.
